Training Programs
Substance Abuse Training
Pan-Pacific Training offers students of various disciplines and professions the
opportunity to advance their knowledge in the field of addiction studies. Our
training programs feature interactive, real-world scenarios to provide an effective
and engaging learning experience. Pan-Pacific Training will educate students on the
signs and symptoms of alcohol and controlled substance misuse, their effects on health,
potential workplace issues and the warning signs of addiction.

Crisis Intervention (4 Hours)
This training course focuses on understanding the principles and techniques necessary to
manage conflict. Substance abusing clients often lack these valuable skills, and this directly impacts the course of their recovery. Students of this program will find the skills they acquire from this program applicable both to their work as well as their personal lives.
Co-Occurring Disorders (4 Hours)
Clients with both mental illness and substance abuse disorder present opportunities for
therapists/counselors to address both issues simultaneously in their treatment planning. However, mental health professionals may often encounter difficulty in planning the most effective course of treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders. This course offers guidance to professionals in treating mood, anxiety, personality, psychotic and other types of disorders that are commonly present in the substance abusing population. Students will practice diagnosing substance abuse disorders and different
types of mental illness and will become familiar with the use medication to treat co-existing disorders.
Infectious Diseases (4 Hours)
Mental health professionals must understand the connections between infectious diseases and substance abuse in order to assure the safety and overall health of their clients. This course explains the risk of disease infection among substance abusing clients in various treatment settings. The course provides a general overview of the
epidemiology and transmission of common infectious diseases including symptoms and characteristics of disease progression. Also covered in the program are strategies for the assessment, prevention and treatment of these conditions.

Domestic Violence Training
The California Penal Code requires that facilitators of Batterers Intervention Programs
(123.097c) receive 40 hours of core basic education and training and the additional 16
hours of annual continuing education.

DV 40 Hour Core Basic Training
This training program has been designed to fulfill the 40 hour code basic training requirement for Batterers Intervention Programs (1203.097c) mandated by the California Penal Code. This program provides the student with a thorough review of the issues, standards and techniques being used in the treatment of domestic violence offenders through an engaging and interactive curriculum that utilizes multimedia presentations, lectures, peer processing, Q&A, and hands-on experience. Upon completion of the course,
students will be issued a certificate of completion and will be equipped with the basic knowledge necessary to begin working in a Batterers Intervention Program.
DV Continuing Education (16 Hours)
This course allows current Domestic Violence counselors to fulfill their annual continuing education requirement. Counselors will receive 16 hours of training in a variety of training modules designed to keep the counselor up to speed with current issues regarding violence within the family.

Workforce Training

Sexual Harassment
Harassment in the workplace is prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act
and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act. Employees are responsible for maintaining a workplace free of sexual and other forms of harassment; employees are responsible for understanding what constitutes harassment and for taking appropriate
action for every occurrence of harassment in the workplace. Pan Pacific's Sexual Harassment Training Program helps students create a harassment-free work environment and helps them build a defensible position against harassment claims.
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to examine how sexual and other forms of harassment impact the workplace. Students will understand how sexual harassment is defined under the law and be able to recognize, avoid, and respond to inappropriate behavior. In order to ensure that each student is comfortable with the myriad of nuances of sexual harassment standards, students of this course will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with and ask questions to an expert on the subject.
Workplace Safety
This training program emphasizes increased awareness of potentially harmful behavior including the contributing factors to, warning signs of, and preventative measures applicable against the different types of violence. This program is designed to help students recognize that workplace violence is everyone's responsibility and will help students change the way they approach workplace violence primarily by shifting their behavior towards violence from reactive to preventative.
Professional Ethics Training
This training program is designed to increase students' awareness of ethical issues, codes and standards and expand their understanding of general ethical principles as they pertain to the work environment. This course will incorporate multi-media presentations and allow students to participate in role playing with various real-life situations in order to simulate the practical use of covered ethical principles.
